70,489 Decisions for Christ!
From June 7-11, 2006 we went back to South Africa for a mass crusade in the Mdantsane Township, outside the city of East London, in
the Eastern Cape. Mdantsane is one of the largest townships in South Africa.
Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne was born and raised in the Eastern Cape—in the land of the Xhosa. The Xhosa tribe is one of the largest
tribes in South Africa. As a teenager, still in high school, he had some of his first ministry experiences, preaching in the mud huts of the
Transkei!
This was the biggest crusade ever held in that area. We had a combined attendance of 94,000, on the biggest night we had a crowd of
27,000 people, and over the five days 70,489 people gave their lives to Jesus. This was all in spite of major transportation problems—the
taxis don't allow the buses into Mdantsane and sometimes gunfire is even exchanged.
The favor of God was all over this crusade. Pastors told us that through the co-operation of the different ministries and churches with
GNMD, God healed some breaches and misunderstanding and brought a Spirit of unity and mutual respect to relationships between
ministers.
You know—everywhere we go—we want to leave the place better than when we came. We want to leave a deposit of God's grace and
blessing!
